Elizabeth Fearon

I have gilded the thresholds to both the front and back doors to my home as well as the threshold to the backyard gate. This gilding demarcates a sacred private space, the space of a private dwelling. Over the course of the show the gilding will wear down as many feet traverse these thresholds. The wearing down of the gilding will be a physical record of the transition from a private dwelling to a more public place.
